"Uit de kast"
ReCovered cabinet featured in Volkskrant Magazine
The weekend before Dutch Design Week, while we were still stressing over deadlines and last-minute preparations, the Volkskrant Magazine Design Edition hit the shelves, and we were so happy to be part of it!
The piece, aptly titled “Uit de kast” (“Out of the Closet”), presents our ReCovered Cabinet as a forward-thinking take on the circular economy and was featured in the “Van Eigen Bodem” (“From Our Own Soil”) section.
It was a wonderful showcase of Dutch design and craftsmanship, and with so many inspiring examples included, it is truly an honour to be among them.
Spotted @ Object Rotterdam
We didn’t bring the ReCovered Cabinet to this year’s Dutch Design Week, as our focus there was on the Poma/Olera series, but seeing it featured in one of the Netherlands’ most respected magazines the weekend before was such a proud moment.
The photograph used in the article was taken earlier this year during Object Rotterdam, where this colorful special caught the attention.

In these digital times, more and more filing cabinets are disappearing from offices. Where should all those sturdy old cabinets go?
.
Designers Jana Flohr and Thomas Linssen of House of Thol, working from their studio in Overasselt, came up with a new look for these high-quality — yet somewhat unattractive — office pieces.
.
Their ReCovered Cabinet features interchangeable panels within an oak frame, which can be upholstered with hemp textile, recycled denim, or repurposed kite fabric.
.
Prices start at €2,400 for a small ReCovered Cabinet; the one pictured costs €5,600.
